Korean Reunion

The plane ride over to Korea from home was long and, alas, sleepless. My stopover in San Francisco was brief, which was unfortunate because my former roomie and co-worker, Lori, lives there and I would have loved to have seen her. However, I had to settle with surprising her with a phone call. But eventually I made it to Korea! It was weird because, as I was walking around, I didn't feel like I had been away for an entire year. I still remembered where everything was, and I found that I could recall most of the Korean I had previously known i.e. how to direct a cab driver and order food... and did I eat food! I definitely got my fix of my favourite Korean dishes and also my fave restaurants like Flying Pan and the yummy dim sum restaurant at Myeong-dong.

I was worried about jet lag, which I normally get hit with pretty hard when I travel long distances, but apparently my body decided that it didn't need sleep or I just didn't get it this time. I was able to function fine during the day and stay up late at the local pubs watching the World Cup and hanging out with friends. It was great to meet up with some of the people that are still in Korea and catch up!

My reunion in Korea was a lot of fun but very brief. Tonight Beau and I are off to Manila for a quick overnight layover, and catching another flight tomorrow into Singapore. Then, our backpacking adventure will truly begin!!!

N.B. I will try to post pictures later... I forgot my camera cord today :(
